If you renewed with Notary Public Underwriters, your new official notary stamp will be sent to you once the commissioning authority—typically the Secretary of State, County Clerk, or Judge of Probate—reappoints you as a notary public*. However, you should not use the stamp yet if you still have time remaining on your current commission. To help you be aware of this, we will include a notice with your stamp order.

* NOTE: Certain states may require you to complete additional step(s) before using your new notary stamp. This is always outlined during the application process: however, if you have any questions, please contact our office.

You should use your current notary stamp until midnight on the expiration date, after which you should properly dispose of the stamp in a manner that does not allow anyone else to use it, and begin using the new stamp. If your notary commission has already expired, you can start using your new notary stamp once you receive it, but remember to dispose of your old notary stamp to prevent it from being used.
